Fractional laser skin resurfacing uses a pattern of microscopic laser beams to damage scar tissue and cause new, healthy tissue to form in its place. The treatment is fast, and not painful - skin may be reddened and slightly swollen for a short period of time after each treatment, not unlike a mild sunburn. Patients may return to work or leisure activities immediately. It may take several treatments to significantly reduce the appearance of scars, but excellent results may be obtained over time.
