No parent has the right to tattoo and thus permanently scar their child, IMHO. It's pretty close in abhorence to the genital mutilation practiced in some countries. Tattoos are an adults decision for themselves- and as we know, many many adults as they get older regret the tatoos that they already have and end having them removed painfully by dermabrasion or other methods. But to have been branded by one's own parents- that's shameful.

Have you heard about the Georgia parents who are being charged with cruelty to children, reckless conduct, and illegal tattooing after giving six of their seven children tattoos with a homemade needle?
This case brings about issues of parental control, what constitutes as child cruelty, what body alterations should be allowed for children, and what is safe for our skin.
What do you think?
Should the parents be punished?
Was what they did a crime?
Where would you draw the line between legal and illegal?
