Is it still there? If so, it wouldn't be a bad idea to see a doctor. I do think it's possible to get melanoma anywhere, including on the feet: http://feet.thefuntimesguide.com/2010/01/foot_melanoma.php
If it's gone, though, I wouldn't worry too much. You could have just accidentally injured yourself in an unmemorable way.

This scab/ scar suddenly appeared on my inside heal- on the bump just above my foot. I have no idea how I got it. Since it's in a place which is exposed when I wear sandals or sneakers- it makes me worry a bit. But I've never heard of a serious skin lesion like melanoma showing up on a foot. Is that possible? Any advice?
